Depot Newton-On-Ayr, Scotland. Major C.W. Whittake, officer commanding the depot, on horseback. Nine officers of the depot pose in chairs. Brother sergeants, a break in the routine. Camaradierie of the NCOs. Shots of the group and brothers leaving NCOs quarters.~Physical Drill. Under the command of Sergeant Major MacKay, men perform physical training exercises, including "extend arms", pushups, and bayonet drills. Men race across parade square with fixed bayonets and drive them into the ground dangerously close to comrades who pose as the enemy. More physical training with kneebends, running on the spot, and sidekicks.~Bayonet Fighting. Instruction in bayonet fighting with Sergeant Major MacKay, Sergeant Major G.H. Taylor, and Sergeant W. Ryall showing how it is done. Men of the regiment race to kits and stacked rifles and leave the parade square in battle uniform with rifles shouldered. <5mn>

Newfoundland Soldiers Visit Home of Robbie Burns. Soldiers visit the sites of Scotland including Burn's birthplace, the monument and tea garden at Auld Brig O'Doon and the Tam O'Shanter Inn at Ayr.~Newfoundlanders sitting outside bell tents in uniform reading letters. Cut away to horse drawn sleighs in front of government buildings in downtown St. John's and various other views of Newfoundland as soldiers remember their home. Soldiers exchange stories.~Scenes In and Around Aldershot. Thousands of men of various regiments are encamped here. Shots of artillery and cavalry units parading.~Regimental Turnout and Horse Parade. Endless steam of allied soldiers parading and horses being put through their paces.~Mounting Guard at The Depot and Changing Reliefs. Men of the Newfoundland Regiment mounting guard and changing reliefs at Aldershot.
