Scenes of extensively bombed areas filmed immediately after the 2nd World War. Allied liberation of the northeast region of Germany, including Munster, Bremen, Hanover, Dusseldorf, Cologne. Panoramic shots of extensive damage to buildings, both residential and commercial, include the Cologne Cathedral, various castles and bridges. Shots of local civilians salvaging materials with carts. Filmed is a sign, "Death is so permanent, drive slowly" with a bombed building in the background. Contrasted to country home where a woman exits her home with a tray of food for the soldiers, and a dog with a Queen Anne collar.
